The Newton Road Open Space was officially opened in 2018 by the former MP for South Cambridgeshire Heidi Allen.
Former allotment land and owned by South Cambs District Council, Whittlesford Parish Council were granted a ‘License to Occupy’ the land in the year 2000, as a safe play area for the children of Newton Road. It was several years later when a new housing development was introduced at Newton Road and Section 106 money was awarded to enhance the original open space, which allowed the Parish Council to provide a play area.
The Newton Road Open Space is managed by the Parish Council and is a wonderful open space for everyone to enjoy.
