Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2026-10443

NOTICE is hereby given that Cambridgeshire County Council has made an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Newton Road (C254), Whittlesford as lies between Nos 1,2 & 3 Bar Lane Cottages and Nos 6 Newton Road.

Access will be maintained to properties affected by this order.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate new gas connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 30 March 2026 and continue until these works have finished.

It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 30 March 2026 and 2 April 2026.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Middlemoor Road, Whittlesford; Shelford Road; Whittlesford Road, Little Shelford; High Street; Hauxton Road; High Street, Hauxton; Church Road; A10; B1368; Whittlesford Road, Newton (South Cambs); Newton Road, Whittlesford; Newton Road (c254), Whittlesford and vice versa.
