M11 Southbound Junction 10 – 8

A11 Southbound Stumps Cross to M11 Southbound Junction 9 – Resurfacing

 

I’m writing to tell you that we plan to carry out resurfacing on the M11 Southbound between junction 10 to junction 8 and on between A11 Southbound Stumps Cross to M11 Southbound Junction 9A. Once complete, drivers will benefit from a safer, smoother and better-defined road surface.

We plan to complete this work overnight starting on Friday 3 October 2025. We’ll be working between 9pm and 5am, weather permitting.

Closures and diversions

To carry out the work safely, we will need to close M11 Southbound between junction 10 to junction 8 and on between A11 Southbound Stumps Cross to M11 Southbound Junction 9, traffic will be diverted as follows:

 

M11 southbound junction 10 – 8 diversion:

  • Drivers should exit at junction 10 and turn right onto the A505 westbound towards Royston
  • From Royston, continue southbound on the A10 to Puckeridge
  • At Puckeridge, join the A120 eastbound
  • This route will take you to junction 8, where you can rejoin the M11

 

A11 southbound Stumps Cross to M11 southbound junction 9 diversion:

  • Drivers travelling southbound on the A11 should exit the at Stumps Cross at roundabout
  • Turn right onto A1301 and continue heading straight to the A505
  • At the A505 roundabout take the first exit and continue straight towards junction 10 Duxford to join up with the M11 Diversion along the A505
