UPDATE: Important roadworks information
M11 southbound between junctions 12 (Haggis Farm Interchange) and 10 (Duxford Interchange) – resurfacing
We’re continuing emergency resurfacing on the M11. The next section to be resurfaced is on the M11 southbound between junctions 12 and 10. The road surface has become worn and damaged in several areas, with cracks, grooves, and loose material appearing across the lanes. This work will include resurfacing, refreshing road markings, and replacing worn-out studs.
We plan to complete this work over two weeks from Tuesday 12 May to Thursday 28 May 2026. We will work overnight between 9pm and 5am, weather permitting. We will not work on Sundays and on Friday 22 May and Monday 25 May 2026, construction work will be stood down.
This work is part of a bigger project on the M11 to carry out essential resurfacing. We’ll share details of any future closures and diversions as soon as they’re confirmed.
Closures and diversions
To carry out this work safely, we will need to close the M11 southbound between junctions 12 and 10 and divert traffic as detailed below:
- If you want to travel on the M11 southbound via junction 12, leave the motorway at junction 12 and follow Haggis Farm Interchange.
- Take the third exit onto the A603.
- Continue on the A603 to the A1198/A603 roundabout.
- Take the first exit onto the A1198.
- Stay on the A1198 southbound through Kneesworth towards Royston.
- At the A1198/A505 roundabout, take the first exit onto the A505.
- Continue on the A505 through Flint Cross to M11 junction 10 at Duxford Interchange.
- Rejoin the M11 southbound at junction 10 to continue your journey.
