Come and help in the Millennium Wood – Sunday 11th February from 2.30pm

11th February - 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Come and help in the Millennium Wood

Sunday 11th February from 2.30pm

Everyone Welcome!

Our Millennium Wood was planted, as the name suggests, to celebrate the millennium.  The land is owned by the County Council, who provided the trees and helped residents with the planting, and is part of a tenanted County Farm.

Since it was planted, the wood has become a much-loved part of the village, particularly for walkers and their dogs.  It is also in need of some TLC.

We were getting along fine with the County Council until Covid, so it has taken a while to get permission to do some trimming to keep the wood in good health.  The original Tree Group is now working under the umbrella of the Eco Group and we shall be working in the wood from 2.30 pm on Sunday 11th February. You are welcome to come along.

We are necessarily Health and Safety conscious, not only because that is good sense but also because the County and our insurers require us to take reasonable precautions.  So, we may use only hand tools – pruning saws, loppers, and secateurs – and dress appropriately for work in a woodland setting. So why not give it a go?
