The WHITTLEWOMEN year runs from September to July – meeting at 8.00pm on the third Tuesday of the month, almost always in the house of one of the members, for a sociable evening including a guest speaker, followed by chat (as only women can!) plus tea/coffee, refreshments and a raffle.
As the name suggests, this is a group for Whittlesford women of any age, whether career girls, at-home-full-time mums, retirees, ‘resting’ or multi-tasking-part-time everythings! Whittlewomen is unaffiliated to any other group or organisation – although individual members also belong to and bring experience and interests from a wide range of different backgrounds; the common ground is the village of Whittlesford and meeting and making friends here.
Newcomers and new members are particularly invited and will be made most welcome.
Occasionally, when larger turnouts are expected, the Community Room at Lettice Martin Croft is a comfortable venue and men will be invited, if we think the subject matter is of interest to them. They are invited to the sociable summer BBQ which ends the Whittlewomen year in June.
Copies of the year’s programme are available from the village shop and members who have registered an email address, receive one that way, for those not on e-mail the programme is posted.
The annual membership subscription is £7.00, payable at, or preferably before the first meeting to the Treasurer, and there is a £1 attendance charge at each meeting to cover refreshments and raffle. Visitors are always welcome at a charge of £3 per meeting.
