Founded in 1975, the Whittlesford Society aims, written into its Constitution, are:
- Stimulating public interest
- Promoting high standards of planning and architecture
- Securing the preservation, protection, development and the improvement of features of public or historic interest in Whittlesford and in the area of Duxford immediately adjacent.
Our journal Whither Whittlesford is published at least twice a year plus other publications, focussing on local, social and natural history. Regular activities include guided walks, field work and focus events on local archaeology and wildlife species, at least one meeting with an expert guest speaker, and themed events and exhibitions especially of photographs and memorabilia.
